Video is getting to be more and more important, and I think a lot of institutions are struggling with it in the FOI context!
I received a question today from a freedom of information coordinator working at a small-to-medium sized municipality in Ontario:
I am currently processing an MFIPPA [Ontario Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act] request for video footage and need to redact/blur faces. I would greatly appreciate your expert advice if you have any recommendations for third-party services to do this type of redaction or insights.
If you have any recommendations for either software or a service for video redactions, I would love to see them! Please leave a reply below, or contact me directly. It would be great to collaborate on how the FOI community is dealing with this issue. And I encourage you to share this post with others who might have valuable insights or experience with video redaction for FOI requests.
Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you!
